Britney Spears Is Publishing A Novel

Britney Spears may be writing a novel, by which we mean, someone else will write a novel, and Britney Spears will put her name on it. The X Factor judge is in talks with HarperCollins’ It Books to publish a tome of her own, but rather than go the memoir route, it will apparently be a work of fiction loosely modeled on her own life.



According to the Hollywood Reporter, "the story would incorporate fictionalized versions of her own experiences," like Lauren Conrad similarly “wrote” the novel L.A. Candy, about a girl who becomes the star of a reality show.

Of course, it’s no secret that many celebrities have ghost writers for their written works, and if the deal comes to reality, Britney won’t be the first high-profile star to write a book that we suspect didn’t actually write a book. Forgive us for being skeptical, but the troubled star has had a hard enough time stringing a coherent sentence together in public, and only just recovered enough to be on live TV every week.
